ohmy…this is so getting out of hand, makes me want to hurl @ by looking at some of these reponses!

every, i mean every game that falls into the mmorg/ rpg section requires a monthly payment with a prepaid gaming card/ credit or debit card aka Verification!
the “Sims Online”, requires verification and as most games gives the player/ member the option of a 14 – 30 day freeplay but again with some form of age verification.

SL is way to lenient on it’s customers. there has to be stricter rules involved to minimize the problem with halfbaked pedophiles, griefers and wanna be chuck norris’s.
people don’t seem to understand the possible outcome of SL.

do you ne’ sayer’s want to have a more stable and “mature” enviroment or want to keep sitting in front of your pc and refreshing the SL mainpage every 5 seconds to see wether the grid is up or not?!

specially in a game/ virtual reality where there is MAJOR adult content ( 80% of SL is very MATURE!) there has to be some sort and form of verification. i don’t think its appropiate to have minors getting caught up in ” kid av play “, and other roleplaying that is beyond mature!

lol@ “Starnight Luna”. you may not be very familiar with the term of “god” in games.
but “god mode” is a very common name in the “first shooter games” , and jane linden did not refer to herself or the other lindens as GOD the allmighty! its a slang/ jargon which means, the “devs (developers) are at work in game, trying to fix whatever the current SL problem may be. 
plus i found that comment really fun and contradicting, because, you said you made 20k?
in your first 30 days with “hard  work”…..lol, yes i can imagine working as a ” entertainer “
( and i am putting this nicely, if you get my drift ), is a HARD job.
yet you sell yourself in a “game” and talk about “god” in the same breath. off course i am only assuming everything…*laughs*

yet 20k is a nice junk of money… get the lindens to write you a check and BUY YOURSELF A PREPAID CREDIT CARD!

my thoughts:

sometimes i do wonder, in my 3 month of SL play, if half of these people are mentally challenged sitting in an internet cafe or a community college and playing their “sex games” from a public access computer.

or are half of these non verifieds are on welfare/ unemployment or living of some sort of illegal income?

in all my gaming years, i have come across many many  weirdos, but SL and these hardcore rp’s who indulge in slave/ master, age play, escorting ( yes even live on cam or voice chat )…are these all yellow short bus rejects?

i am not sure what to think of these people…. but  some just weird me out.

you can get a prepaid visa debit card at any check cashing places. they are $9.95 ( no credit check, if that is a concern ), and you load up the card with only $5. i mean i am by far not floating in cash, but sheesh you can get a prepaid debit card. you say you have no job, someone is paying your isp bill right? you gotta live of something, or perhaps consider getting a job, every even little town has gas stations and fast food places you can work at.

i have been playing online games ” for the past 9 yrs “, i have seen swg, wow, cov, matrix and so on. i came to sl about 3 month ago, and when i signed up ( verified ), there were 300k members. now there are what, 800k members? which i assume are mainly alts or non verified members.
i, too agree – SL should be CC/Debitcard only. simply because – every game you play online
( incl the sims – you have to have a form of verification and pay monthly fees ). if you open up a paypal or ebay account – you need to be verified.
where there is a will – there is a way! and i am sure the ones that are not verified and are non griefers will find a way to play their favorite game. there are no excuses for it, i am sorry, i just don’t buy that.

yet i do agree SL needs to tighten up their buttcheeks and do something about these “AOL like security holes” and downtimes. in the past 4 weeks the game and lag is just outragous. i run 1.5gig ram on my machine and lag like i am on a 33.6 modem.

i do expect SL to get down on that issue and fix these things ASAP. because there will be always better “games” out there and the player/ member base will tend to just those. it is fall – meaning games galore are coming out in the next 2 month.

as for the griefers, this is all none but a script kiddie crap. most play on ” proxies” which should  also be removed ASAP from the gaming options. i mean, come on SL, you are opening the doors for every ” cracker/ script/ teenage/ angsty one”. being ” nice ” to everyone, doesn’t work on the world wide wait anymore. 10 year ago – yes perhaps, but not in these days.
i would suggest to re-think your business strategys really good – or people will leave in hordes!
